MMNA operates one of the most technologically advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world. Under current operating conditions, MMNA Manufacturing Division has an annual production capacity of 135,000 vehicles. The production line is designed to accommodate several different models intermixed on one assembly line. Currently, MMNA Manufacturing is mass producing four different models on one assembly line. The four models are: the Mitsubishi Eclipse coupe, Spyder convertible, Galant sedan and Endeavor sport utility.
Approximately 1,000 robots are housed on 636 acres in Central Illinois with 2.4 million square feet or the equivalent of 50 football fields under one roof.
Representing a truly integrated manufacturing facility, MMNA Manufacturing stamps most major body panels and injection-molds most bumper fascias in house, ensuring excellence in build. Production Associates work in five shops: Stamping, Plastics, Body, Paint, and Trim/Final Assembly.
MMNA Manufacturing Division employs approximately 1,800 people and acts as an economic catalyst by contributing about $270 million annually to the local economy in taxes, salaries and benefits. United Auto Workers Local 2488 represents Production and Maintenance Associates.
